Kalecik Karası is used a lot to make rosé wines in Turkey. Often with a real success.

Let’s taste this one made by Vinkara :

On the nose, floral and red forest fruit flavours.

It’s very dry, fresh and lively with a crisp acidity.

The palate is full of red berries with flavours of raspberry, lingonberry and red currant.

Some more complex flavours appear like cacao, orange blossom and lemon zest.

A hint of celery is percevable in the medium finish.

A medium range rosé wine quite pleasant but nothing more.
