The Thrace region is located in North Western Turkey bordering 2 countries (Greece and Bulgaria) and 3 seas (Black Sea, Marmara Sea and the Aegean Sea.

People often refer to “Trakya”, Thrace in English, which is the name of the ancient region of the antiquity split today between Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey.

The climate is typically mediterranean with hot summers and mild winters. Still, the maritime influence moderates temperatures and humidity.

Soil : Limestone, gravelly loan and dense cracking clay depending on the sub-region. The Strandja area in Kirklareli province has sand, decomposed granite with quartz pebbles.

Wineries : Chamlija, Vino Dessera, Arcadia and Saranta in Kirklareli province, Doluca, Gulor, Kutman, Chateau Kalpak, Barel, Melen, Umurbey, Barbare and Chateau Nuzun in Tekirdag province, Pasaeli in Istanbul province (Kemerburgaz).
