The Mid-Southern Anatolia wine region is located mainly in the Nevsehir province, right in Cappadocia, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I also added the Antalya province which is on the Mediterranean Sea.

The climate in Cappadocia is really extreme with a big temperature difference between day and night. Antalya province has of course a Mediterranean climate with hot summers and mild winters.

Soil : Sand, sandstone, decomposed volcanic tuff, the latter giving good quality grapes for wine production. Pebbly clay loam to calcareous chalks on the Mediterranean coast.

Wine production share in Turkey : 12,1%

Grape varieties : Chardonnay, Emir, Kalecik karasi, Malbec, Narince, Okuzgozu, Sauvignon Blanc, Tempranillo in Cappadocia and Bogazkere, Cabernet sauvignon, Chardonnay, Kalecik Karasi, Malbec, Merlot, Okuzgozu, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah on the Mediterranean coast.

Wineries : Kocabag and Turasan in Cappadocia and Likya in Antalya province.
