As many Frenchmen I started to taste wine at family dinners. My knowledge has grown with time but remained on an amateur level. I could have worked in wine selling in Moscow but declined the opportunity to get a more secure job.
It’s only here in Istanbul that my obsession with wine suddenly expressed itself with the urge to share my love for this country.
Making wine in Turkey is a real challenge. For some it may even be a way to claim one’s values.
What really amazed me is the quality achieved by many Turkish winemakers in the last ten years.
Boutique wineries, revival of forgotten local wine grapes, successful blend of local and international wine grapes… Passion and innovation are the trademarks of those new wineries.
I invite you to discover with me some wonderful Turkish wines.
