More than a decade ago the Arca family established Arcadia vineyards to create a winery that would reflect the terroir of Kirklareli area in Northern Thrace. They got help from French oenologists to analyze the soil of the region and chose the right place to make the wine that would express their own philosophy.
They were one the first wineries to settle down here. The continental climate that you find here which is tempered by the Black and the Aegean Sea allows to produce aromatic wines with an excellent ripeness and a good acidity. On top of this, Arcadia winery has an environmentally sensitive policy which include minimum intervention and careful production methods.
Arcadia wines are all made from estate-grown fruit. They produce 11 grape varieties and some of them are quite unique in Turkey. A total of 120,000 bottles are produced per year. One of these varieties is Sauvignon Gris. Arcadia winery is definitely the first in Turkey to cultivate it.
Arcadia winery is now transforming itself with the opening of a gastro-hub called Bakucha Vineyard Hotel and Spa with 18 rooms, a restaurant, a bar with a scenic view of the istranca mountains and the vineyards, an outdoor swimming-pool and a Turkish hammam.
