Château Kalpak is real terroir wine as we understand it in France and it shows.
This Bordeaux style blend is cultivated on a single vineyard made of gravel and limestone very close to both the Marmara and Aegean Sea.
The flow technique used to collect the grapes is made under the influence of gravity. It keeps the grapes from being damaged and losing aromas and flavours.
The wine is aged in French oak barriques and there’s no filtration.
Let’s taste it together now!
Rich and evolving aromas of cassis, red and black currants complemented by notes of earth, cedar and spice.
It’s very dry and fruity as well, elegant and complex.
Although still young, it has power and density.
On the palate, it has savoury dark fruit flavours combined with hints of tobacco, round tannins and a lingering finish.
It’s absolutely delicious.
I would recommend it with a good red meat and a refined dinner but even without it, it’s self-sufficient!!!
