My first Boğazkere mono cépage made by Urla winery and I’m not disappointed.
I love the smell of this wine, generous, characterful with sweet black fruit aromas and hints of pepper, liquorice and dark chocolate.
This medium high bodied wine is very well balanced with medium acid and medium high tannins.
It has a velvety structure and delicious dark fruit aromas that don’t burn your throat at all (Boğazkere means “throat burner” in Turkish).
There are also some notes of bitter chocolate, leather and cloves.
The finish is long and savorous.
I’m surprised in a good way by this refined Boğazkere that proves this grape can taste quite differently.
Don’t eat spicy food with this one. Just some good lamb kebab will do.
