Chamlija Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 : My French palate is not used to mono cépage wines made of Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot. Usually those are cheap wines or wines for people with new world taste. But this Cabernet Sauvignon (I refuse to say “Cab Sav) has a surprisingly strong personality for such a young wine. The nose is intriguing with aromas of cassis, cedar and wet stones. Then it gives a sensation of richness, the mouth is full in a good way, the tannins are strong but not overwhelming. There are flavours of black currant, green pepper and chocolate.
A very well balanced wine that can be kept in your cellar for long but is already enjoyable.
