Vinolus Blush 2013 Kayseri (Kalecik Karası 40%, Tempranillo 60%)
This winery is not new on the Turkish wine map but they obtained the organic certificate only 9 years ago.
Vinolus is located in Cappadocia not far from a volcano. They’re one of the few Turkish wineries to use Tempranillo, a Spanish wine grape.
The result of the combination between the local grape Kalecik Karası and Tempranillo is very interesting. The colour of the wine is between pink and blood orange. The nose is very aromatic with aromas of fresh red fruits. On the palate it’s fresh but with low acidity. I’ve found flavours of strawberry, raspberry, cherry and coco. Some hints of dil can be detected in the medium finish. An original and fresh summer wine which will perfectly pair with spicy food, prawns or salmon from the Black Sea.
