Chateau Nuzun is a relatively new “boutique” winery that produces organic wine which means they let Mother Nature do its thing much more than other wineries do.
They have a huge reputation now so I was quite excited to try my “first” Chateau Nuzun, the 2009 vintage, a blend of their 4 red grapes!
Well, saying that this wine has an aromatic nose is a bit of an understatement! If you just close your eyes, you feel like walking in the forest and smelling all its good (and not so good) aromas.
Apart from dark fruits, you can smell animal notes, leather, tobacco, mushrooms, Underwood…
The texture is velvety and the tannins are strong but quite well balanced. Dark fruits and some jam can be detected. The finish has some spices like cinnamon and vanilla.
There were some sediments so be careful while pouring the wine.
I think that this is the kind of wine you need with game and strong meaty dishes in autumn.
