Price : 40 TL at Carrefour super… an incredible price for such an agreeable wine!

Catarratto (or Cataratto as wrotten on this bottle…) is a classic white grape variety from Sicily. It’s not the first Sicilian variety grown by Yanık Ülke. There is also a nice Nerello Mascalese I’ve already talked about.

This Sicilian white grape seems to have perfectly blended in the Turkish soil.

The nose is delicately floral with some citrus notes of wild oranges and lemon zest.

It’s fresh and quite fleshy at the same time. It has a mild acidity.

I really liked the flavours of tropical fruits like passion fruit and grapefruit with an herbal touch and some sweet spices.

The mineral and slightly salty finish makes it a very pleasant ending.

White fish, white meat and goat cheese will pair perfectly with this uncommon and seductive wine.
