It could not be a compliment from a Frenchman but this wine has a new world flare and it’s really well done.
First of all, in France, we don’t blend Syrah (Shiraz) with Petit Verdot. Australians and South Africans, though, are free to do it. And it’s great like with this beautiful bottle, the second one from Garova Vineyards I had the pleasure to taste.
The colour is deep garnet purple.
It has aromas of cherry tobacco with spices and sweet floral notes of violet, jammy plum and cola.
It’s a medium bodied wine very fresh with a velvety round palate. Tannins are high but balanced by a high acidity.
The palate has flavours of plum, olive, loganberry, sweet tobacco and bacon fat.
The finish is medium long with juicy and floral notes.
I really liked it. My favourite so far from Garova vineyards.
Perfect with fusili with bolognese sauce.
Peut être un jour ce serait la norme d’une “appellation d’origine contrôlée” vu qu’il est bien noté par vous.
Je voudrais dire “Cheers” mais pas en vain…
