My first wine by Eskibağlar, an Anatolian winery from Elazığ, Öküzgözü’s home. This reserve vintage is aged in oak barrels for 12 months.
The vineyard is on an altitude of 1400 meters.
The grapes are hand-crafted.
Nose : Dark cherry, ripe plum, blackberry, dried fruits, tobacco and cardamom.
Palate : Tannins are soft and elegant. It’s quite powerful, dense. Medium high bodied and medium acidity. It’s very layered.
Flavours of blackberry, black raspberry, eucalyptus, then ripe plum, cherry marmalade, chocolate, thyme.
Sweet spices in the medium long finish.
Very enjoyable.
