Kayra İmperial Öküzgözü 2013 : A beautiful wine I had the pleasure to drink with Andrea Lemieux today. Öküzgözü is one of my favourite Turkish grapevine and Kayra seems to be the best winery to produce it.
I had already loved their Kayra Versus Alpagut Öküzgözü. Now this Imperial vintage really deserves its name. Needless to say, this wine has to be poured in a carafe at least 30 minutes before drinking.
It has complex aromas of black cherry, cassis and tobacco. The texture is beautiful with notes of blueberry, plum, liquorice and some hints of leather in the finish.
Ok, it’s a very expensive wine… more than 50 Euro… but it’s worth every penny and you will remember it for a very long time.
Can you tell me where I can buy this wine in Istanbul? We tried it recently, and really liked it but could not find in three stores we went.

Not easy to find, you’re right. I know for sure you can find it at Akmerkez shopping Center. They have in the Macro Center which is inside the mall.
