Believe me, I’m entirely objective when I say that it’s one of the best Chardonnay i had in Turkey. And yes, once again, it’s from Chamlija winery. To be fair, I tried the “regular” Chardonnay from the same vintage and I was quite disappointed.. too herbal,, nothing much to offer. But this one is an entirely different story.
The nose is rich with yellow apple and smoked notes.
Then in the mouth it’s mineral, slightly buttery and very subtle. A quite classy wine with flavours of pear, peach and litchi. Pure acidity and long length with hints of orange confit.
Perfect with grilled fish like the Denizli levrek (wild sea bass) we had tonight.
Hı İam very happy for the Info you have given and happy to follow your blog ..Thanks.Have a question; İ see two different bottle of wine but same grape and same year ,are they same wine in two different bottle?
Thanks, cheers.

Thank you so much Mehmet! No it’s really two different wines even if it’s the same year and the same grape. All depends on the soil, the climate and the technology.

In fact felix Culpa 2014 Chardonnay is of a higher quality than the more simple Chardonnay made by the same winery. Again, the technology, the soil, the choice of the grapes make the difference.
