Points : 7/10
Price : 91 TL at Suvla boutique in Emaar Square AVM. A bit of a rip off as this wine usually costs much less…
This very pleasant white wine grows on high altitude on volcanic soils in Cappadocia and it shows in its strong mineral notes. Turasan Winery is very famous for this wine.
On the nose you already notice the mineral notes. It has citrus (lemon, blood orange and grapefruit) aromas but also herbal and toasted notes.
On the palate the texture is quite fleshy and at the same time this wine is fresh, lively and crisp. Acidity is high as well.
I detected white pear, apple (golden and green) flavours and hints of honeysuckle in the medium long finish.
A very nice wine that needs to open itself a bit but has to be served chilly.
I think it’s a good match with ceviche, sushi and spicy Asian cuisines.
