2178 bottles produced in 2017.
7 months in french oak, fermented barrel and vegan wine.
High in alcohol (14,3) as often in Turkey but it’s not overwhelming.
At first, aromas are hard to define, it’s very closed with only obvious black fruits and some notes of camphor.
After one hour, you let it breath in the bottle, everything has changed.
You’ll find those black fruit aromas of course, but also sweet tobacco, allspice, espresso, black pepper… it’s very layered.
Very impressive nose once it’s open.
In the mouth, tanins are chewy and soft, acidity is high, it’s powerful and fruity.
Very good balance between the fruits, the tannins and the acidity. Wow!
I really didn’t expect such a complex wine at first.
On the palate, you got flavours of black fruits again, like tart forest fruits, black raspberry and black cherries. Then you got cured meat, bacon fat, vanilla.
Very long finish with notes of lavender and coffee.
It’s really a beautiful Syrah. I’m impressed.
