Orange wines tend to be too bold, sour and/or bitter for me.
It’s not the case with this wine.
Orange wine’s aficionados may find it too simple, to easy to drink.
I think this wine is, for all these reasons, a good introduction to discover this kind of wine.
I love the light amber colour coming from the 15 day crusted maceration.
On the nose, you’ve got aromas of citrus jam, ripe apricot, honeysuckle and mineral.
It’s very clean and well balanced.
Alcohol is low at 11,5.
Tannins are a bit dry with maybe a lack of freshness.
On the palate you’ve got flavours of apricot again, citrus peel, grapefruit, pear, raspberry, hazelnut and wood varnish.
The finish is medium long and deliciously bitter.
On the whole, it’s a very nice summer wine, very affordable at 65 TL.
Thank you Tasheli winery from Mersin!
