This blend really is to die for. I haven’t been so impressed for a while.
This red blend is made of : Cabernet Sauvignon 42%, Merlot 30%, Syrah 12%, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot 8% each.
Yes! Five grapes and the result is a seamless, fruit-driven, earthy, incredibly balanced wine. It smells like a compote of dark fruits (plum, cherry, black currants) with oaky notes like chocolate and vanilla.. The palate is full and juicy, with a high acidity and excellent integration of tannins, making you just want to chew on it.
Wow!
For the ones who don’t know, Corvus is a winery located on the island of Bozcaada, a fantastic island that is home to many wineries.
Corvus winery was founded in 2002.
The founder of Corvus winery, Reşit Soley, was an architect in Istanbul when he decided to buy the old state winery Tekel.
It’s amazing how he transformed it.
It’s important to mention that Corvus winery is organic.
By the way, do you know where the name comes from?
Corvus in Latin means crow. The island is also home to many of them.
You can find this wine in wine boutiques but also at Istanbul airport where I purchased it.
